Now Commenting On:

This week in New York, head of the NFLPA De Smith was asked about Jets tight end Kellen Winslow Jr.'s arrest last November and any NFL fallout from the event that might result in a suspension in 2014.

"Our drug policy is one that has strict and well-defined drugs that are banned," Smith told the Newark Star-Ledger. "If they are not on the list, they can't serve as the basis for discipline."

While the arrest itself might raise eyebrows when it comes to the conduct policy, it's good news for teams that might be interested in adding the tight end to their roster for the 2014 season.

As for the Jets?  Considering the suspension, the arrest and the productivity on the field we don't expect that Winslow will be returning to the Jets for 2014. Winslow was a one-year solution and the team will look to get better at the position through free agency or the NFL Draft in May.
