As the Jets wait for the results on the MRI Le'Veon Bell had on his knee, the team has signed another running back to the active roster.

New York signed Josh Adams to the roster from the practice squad on Tuesday, reports Manish Mehta of the Daily News

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, though, the two situations are not related. Adams is joining the active roster, so the Jets can block a certain team from stealing him off the practice squad. Schefter's source says Bell is "good," and as NFL Network's Tom Pelissero pointed out as well, Bell was seen dancing in his recording studio and has had MRIs on his knee this year as a precaution.

Adams, 23, played in 14 games (five starts) for the Eagles in 2018, rushing 120 times for 511 yards and three touchdowns while reeling in seven receptions for 58 yards.

Jets head coach Adam Gase said Monday that Bell received the MRI on his knee, but wasn't sure what the nature of the issue is.

"I'm kinda waiting on this information," Gase said. "It was something I heard about this morning. He had to miss everything this morning to get the MRI. Haven't talked to the trainers, still going through everything. I can't say exactly where it happened because he never said anything to me during the game or said anything after the game. Not really sure the extent of this."

"It's hard for me to go anywhere with it mentally because it's so grey," Gase added about Bell's situation.

Bell has had one knee injury over his career: a torn MCL in his right knee that knocked him out of the 2015 season after Week 9. Other than that, he's been clean on the injury report in regards to his knee.

The 27-year-old had over 100 scrimmage yards in the Jets' 26-18 loss to the Dolphins this past Sunday, with 66 rushing yards on 17 carries and 55 receiving yards on eight receptions.

Overall this season, Bell has rushed 125 times for 415 yards and one touchdown. He has also reeled in 40 catches for 242 yards and one touchdown.
