Now Commenting On:

Woody Johnson has been loathe to call the Jets a rebuild, but the team's owner has preached "patience" based on the team's current state.  While the Jets have partially addressed the open roster spots at safety via Dawan Landry and there's an expectation that Josh Bush and Antonio Allen will take on larger roles with the team, could they still be in the mix for another free agent?  Former defensive player of the year Charles Woodson is still looking for a team and told NFL Network that he's become increasingly less picky in the last month.

“When this process first started out, that was my thing, I needed to go to a contender,” Woodson said Thursday to NFL Network. “I know I am towards the end of my career. At this point, I want to play football. So if it is a rebuilding stage ... at this point if that is the circumstances I have to play under, then that is what I am going to do.”

I'm sure that the Jets are going to try to field a group of starters based on what they already have in-house, but if Woodson is just looking to play for a team, then this might be a great time for the Jets to upgrade a much younger secondary which greatly benefited last year from LaRon Landry's skills once the team lost Darrelle Revis.  Yes, the Jets added Dee Milliner, but over the top help will be much more at a premium than it has been for the Jets over the last three to four seasons.
