Joe Johnson is prepared for a move, but coach Lionel Hollins isn't so sure the Nets will be making any before the NBA's Thursday 3 p.m. trade deadline.

Hollins told reporters he's "pretty certain" there won't be any changes on the roster.(Boone, Feb. 18). The team is in Los Angeles, where they begin a five-game road trip against the Lakers Friday.

However, Johnson said he was aware his "name was out there" in the trade market, and says he will have his phone on Thursday (Boone, Feb. 18).

In a season that has seen the Nets lose 59 games due to injury split among six different players, Joe Johnson has been the one constant, starting all 24 games, including Monday evening's 130-94 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers at Barclays Center.

The team is cautious with Brook Lopez and his sprained left ankle. The 7-foot, All-Star center sat for a second game on Monday, so Johnson took it upon himself to pick up the slack in a big way.

The 13th-year shooting guard had his biggest offensive outburst as a Net, finishing with a season-high 37 points on 13-for-20 shooting, including 10-for-14 from 3-point range, to go along with seven rebounds and five assists in just 30 minutes of action over the first three quarters.

In the Nets' win over the Boston Celtics, Joe Johnson played 38 minutes, but only managed seven points on 3-of-9 shooting and three rebounds.

Johnson did not attempt a shot until the?6:10?mark of the first quarter, and did not make a shot until hitting a three-pointer at the?3:11?mark of the second quarter, which was only his third shot attempt overall.

When Deron Williams was sidelined with injury, Johnson scored at least 15 points in seven of the nine games. But for some reason, Johnson does not take as aggressive an offensive approach when D-Will is on the floor.?Sure, Williams poured in a game-high 25 points in his return to action, but I think D-Will should be the one consistently setting up Johnson with open looks.

NEW YORK ? With the worst team in the NBA coming to town, the Brooklyn Nets were hoping that Saturday night?s game against the Charlotte Bobcats would be over early, especially with a tough stretch of three games in four days looming.

But despite the 105-96 victory, it wasn?t as easy as initially expected. The Bobcats showed up to play even though their season has been over for a while.

It seemed as though P.J. Carlesimo and the Nets? players were slightly frustrated with the overall effort ? especially defensively ? but will take the win on their home court.

After C.J. Watson?s one-point performance in Monday?s win over the Pacers, he was bound to have a better game Wednesday night against the Nuggets.

Watson not only had a better game, but he also turned in his best performance of the year with a season-high 25 points and six assists.

On Monday night, the Nets defeated the Indiana Pacers by a final score of 89-84 in overtime.

The Skinny: Brook Lopez scored 10 of the Nets? first 13 points, as Brooklyn set up quick offensive sets to combat the Pacers? No. 2 ranked defense. Indiana?s defense improved slightly, but the team?s shooting was way off in the opening frame (6-of-25 from the field). The Nets led by seven after one.

Jeff Pendergraph?s outside shooting led to 10 points, which helped the Pacers tie the game halfway through the second quarter as part of a 15-5 run. Brooklyn native Lance Stephenson gave Indiana the lead later in the quarter. George Hill hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to give the Pacers a five-point lead at the break.

The realm of sports is classic for descriptive nicknames that highlight an athlete?s prowess.

Cal Ripken Jr., who played in a record 2,632 consecutive baseball games, was aptly nicknamed ?The Iron Man.?

On Wednesday night, the Nets were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 109-95.

The Skinny: The Hawks jumped out to a 13-4 lead using their quickness against the sluggish Nets. Atlanta started red hot from the field, hitting 11 of their first 19 shots while the Nets managed just nine of their first 24. Yet, the Nets surprisingly only trailed by seven after the first quarter. Brooklyn scored 18 of its 20 points in the paint and was 0-for-5 collectively from three-point range.

Atlanta orchestrated a 12-0 run spanning the quarters as the Hawks opened a 14-point lead. Following a P.J. Carlesimo timeout, the Nets started to find their groove, as the ?Bench Mob? went on an 11-4 run. Playing in Atlanta for the first time since being traded, Joe Johnson didn?t hit his first field goal until the 4:56 mark of the second quarter. Hawks? center Al Horford had a double-double in the first half with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Every time Brooklyn seemed like it would cut into the deficit, the Hawks answered right back and led by 16 at the break.

Deron Williams was once universally considered an elite point guard in the NBA.

It?s no wonder the Nets sacrificed a huge trade package to acquire him from the Utah Jazz and then signed him to a five-year, $98.7 million contract this past summer.
