Justin Trattou

DE Justin Trattou, who was waived yesterday by the Giants to make room for RB Da'Rel Scott, has been claimed by the Minnesota Vikings.

From the Giants: Trattou, a third-year pro who spent the 2012 season on injured reserve, played on special teams in each of the Giants? first five games. He is tied for the team lead with three special teams tackles, all against the Broncos on Sept. 15.

The Giants placed injured LB Jonathan Goff on the injured reserve list today and promoted DE Justin Trattou from the practice squad.

The addition of Trattou will serve as depth - for now - in case Justin Tuck (neck) cannot play tomorrow afternoon in Washington. Tuck made the trip with the team, but his status is still questionable.

Trattou, who attended the esteemed New Jersey football powerhouse Don Bosco Prep before starring at Florida, is a capable prospect who was a final cut at Giants' training camp.
