Having a great text conversation with TKB Board of Directors right now and we are discussing the options after Melo. Is J.R. the best capable second option? Felton?
I said it last night and I'll say it again. Dallas' game plan was to kick the crap out of Melo with goons. Dahntay Jones and Crowder are physical freaks and they were giving Melo a beating all night. And Melo still gave them 30+. Can you think of a more physical pair in the East who can try and take Melo out? Last night was playoff caliber defensive ball and Melo exceeded. His conditioning passed a great test.
As far as the options, I see a ton of similarities on pick and lobs with Chandler and Felton as Chandler had with Chris Paul in New Orleans. And Novak can be that Peja-type deep threat when they are clicking on all cylinders.
Again, with constant defense the Knicks are proving they can beat you in a ton of ways. And that's a quality every great team possesses.
