You've heard the rumors of activity of possibly trading up. I'm not a fan of that plan if it's to move up 2 spots to 15 where Indiana sits. They'd have to move either Landry Fields or Toney Douglas and if that were the case they better get back the Pacers 42nd pick and a player from the roster. Either way, I don't make that deal.
I can tell you that the chances of the Knicks adding at least one and maybe two picks in this draft is extremely high.
A player who we've talked about possibly being around the 30-40 range is Chandler Parsons, who had a great workout with the team, at least in his mind.
Word is Donnie Walsh has been "very involved" in this draft. So the idea that he is on the outside looking in for this week is simply off. He will play a major role. But to me the question is this:
Look we know CAA has infiltrated the front office. If the Knicks pick say, a Josh Selby, or any other player who isn't ready to contribute this year then the pick is designed to sweeten a Chris Paul deal which, right now, is diabetic from the Knicks standpoint. Drafting for another team that you don't even know is willing to deal with you is very, very dangerous.
If they draft Faried then they better do themselves a favor and add more depth up front via free agency, then use the back end of the draft to fill depth at other positions.
We are almost within a week away from a critical night for this franchise.
