NEW YORK -- With Kevin Love now sidelined 6-8 weeks with a fractured left hand, there's an open spot in the NBA All-Star Game.
But Enes Kanter laughed off the idea of possibly being selected to join Team LeBron.
"I might ask for a trade," he said with a laugh after the Knicks 111-95 rout of the Nets in which he went for 20 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. "If it happens, it happens. If not, I'll go to break. I'm going to cheer for KP."
Kanter famously called James "a princess" following their skirmish during a Nov. 14 game at the Garden.
"I don't care who you are, what you call yourself, King, Queen, Princess, whatever you are," said Kanter, who notched 20 points and 16 rebounds in that loss. "You know what, we gonna fight and nobody out there gonna punk us."
Meantime, Kristaps Porzingis, who went for 28 points in the win over Brooklyn, is already on Team LeBron. So if Kanter isn't selected he can always root on the Unicorn.
Kanter is averaging 13.8 points and 9.9 rebounds for the Knicks (23-28) and has been a bright spot for the team since coming over in the Carmelo Anthony trade.
Asked if it would mean something to him to make the All-Star Game, he said: "Of course, it's an All-Star because I'm representing the New York Knicks, so it would be a really good thing but if it happens, it happens. If not, just focus on the playoffs."
