Oklahoma City Thunder C Enes Kanter spoke on his time playing with Knicks SF Carmelo Anthony's alter ego, "Hoodie Melo," on Timeout with Taylor Rooks.
Kanter has been scrimmaging against Anthony and many others at the Knicks' star's gym in Manhattan all summer, and he has learned first-hand what it is like to play against 'Hoodie Melo."
Anthony has been seen working out and playing pick-up games with a hoodie on, and Kanter believes the attire gives him a mental boost.
"You have to eat the dream You have to sleep the dream You have to dream the dream You gotta touch the dream You have to see it when nobody else sees it You have to feel it when it's not tangible You have to believe it when you cannot see it You gotta be possessed with the dream" --ANY weapon formed against US shall not prosper #STAYME7O
"Whenever he puts that on it's, 'OK, now he's locked in,'" Kanter said.
Kanter also thinks the NBA should create a special jersey with a hood attached just for Anthony as well.
"I feel like the NBA should make a different jersey just for him," Kanter said. "Put a hoodie on, he must average like 50 points a game."
Kanter usually plays against Anthony during the scrimmages, and once his team wins a game, Melo puts on the hoodie. With that, the 33-year-old is more than focused.
"I promise it does," Kanter said on the hoodie making Anthony better, "It changes him so much like making him more focused. I think it puts an edge on him."
