[sny-box]The Least You Should Know
This was a very sloppy game for both teams. There were a lot of turnovers, a lot of errant shots and very little defense.
Carmelo Anthony played great, scoring 44 points on 16 for 28 despite an excellent defensive effort from the Magic's Tobias Harris. That defense caused a key turnover with just under 24 seconds on the clock in the 4th, leading to overtime.
There was a very funky play during the first overtime in which Tyson Chandler received an easy alley oop opportunity. The ball hit Chandler's head and bounce out. It was ruled offensive interference and the go ahead basket was not counted.
Once again, a pair of guards destroyed the Knicks. Tonight it was Victor Oladipo and Arron Affalo (who got hurt in the 2nd overtime) who scored a combined 62 points. Oladipo added 14 assists.
A big key to this game were Anthony's minutes. He once again played over 45 minutes (4th time this season) despite the Knicks leading in the 3rd quarter by 13. When he could have been resting, Anthony stayed out there and was fatigued towards the end of the game.
Six Knicks were in double figures. J.R. Smith, Tyson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Amare Stoudemire joined Anthony with 10+.[/sny-box]
The Knicks play again tomorrow night, taking on the Hawks in Atlanta starting at 7:30pm.
