The message must not have been relayed to Walt Clyde Frazier about Kristaps Porzingis' absence from the Knicks lineup on Tuesday against the Warriors.
It was announced that Porzingis wouldn't play due to knee irritation, but Frazier was under the impression that Porzingis was just resting. Frazier then asked more of the star, saying Porzingis needed to play against the Warriors as he's on the cusp of greatness.
Prior to the Knicks game against the Nuggets, Frazier walked that criticism back.
"I was told he was resting and didn't know there was an injury," Frazier said, via Marc Berman of NY Post. "That's a mitigating factor.''
Porzingis and the Knicks lost in Denver Thursday night 130-118. Porzingis scored 21 points in 27 minutes. The Latvian is a first-time All-Star this season and was drafted to LeBron James' squad.
