With the Cavaliers defeating the Wizards 116-113 on Tuesday night, they became tied with the Suns for the second-worst record in the NBA at 11-41.
That means the Knicks officially own the worst win percentage in the league with a 10-39 record, and sit atop the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery. New York has lost 10 straight games, with their latest a 101-92 defeat to the Hornets on Monday.
Of course, the Knicks don't own the No. 1 pick, and the new lottery rules has the top three teams each getting a 14 percent chance of being awarded the top pick. But being in position to land one of the top prospects in this year's class has always been part of the agenda for the Knicks, as they continue their rebuild.
Given the Knicks land a top pick, players like Duke's Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett along with Murray State's Ja Morant will intrigue New York at the top of the heap.
There is still a lot of games to play, but with this pace, New York should be in prime position to have their ping pong ball selected.
