Arguably the biggest contributor over this past week has been Raymond Felton, who has upped his play since returning from a groin injury on Jan. 7.
Felton put forth his best game of the season against Miami on Jan. 9, dishing a season-high 14 assists in addition to 13 points and and five boards as the Knicks upended the defending champions.
Two nights later, Felton scored nine points and had six assists as the Knicks took down the 76ers. And on Jan. 13, he proved to be the most clutch player on the floor.
With time running down in the fourth quarter, Carmelo Anthony deferred to Felton who drained a three from the corner to give the Knicks a two-point lead with seconds remaining. Felton scored a season-high 19 points on a season-high eight made field goals as the Knicks defeated the Suns in overtime.
This month, Felton has averaged 13.2 points, 6.0 assists and 2.2 rebounds, all while shooting almost 42 percent, a stark contrast from his play earlier on in the year. With Felton becoming a more dependable contributor, the Knicks are able to play a more sound style of basketball.
