Sorry, Knicks fans -- PG Kyrie Irving, who reportedly recently addressed his long-term commitment to the Celtics with team brass, told season ticket holders Thursday night that he plans on re-signing in Boston. (Boston Globe)
The Knicks have had Irving on their free agency radar looking ahead to next offseason, but with Irving's intentions clear, they'll need to reset their focus on another superstar like Kevin Durant.

The Irving-Knicks buzz grew louder after Timberwolves G Jimmy Butler requested a trade amid rumors that the pair want to play together. New York was a preferred destination for Butler, and Irving had the Knicks in consideration before getting traded to the Celtics.
The Knicks, however, reportedly have a "very good shot" at luring Durant away from the Warriors after the upcoming season, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.
