Knicks Gaming topped Heat Check Gaming twice on Saturday to win the inaugural 2K League championship.
The Knicks won Game 1 69-66 and then Game 2 74-71 to end the first season of the 2K League.
Seventeen teams competed in the season and the Knicks were the 8-seed entering the postseason. They upset the top-seeded Blazers team last weekend to start off their title game run.
At least three more teams will field an esports franchise in the 2K League next season, according to CBS Sports' Kyle Boone, meaning at least 20 of 30 NBA teams will have some sort of representation.
