The Knicks are aiming to upgrade at point guard before Thursday's trade deadline, and one player who is reportedly on their radar is Jeff Teague of the Atlanta Hawks (Stein).

The Knicks have come to the conclusion that Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry is unavailable. That realization may result in the club exploring a deal for Teague, but acquiring Teague won't be easy and may not be in the Knicks' financial best interest long-term.

Aside from the fact that Teague has the right to refuse any trade, he'll also come with a hefty price tag - which would negatively impact New York's payroll flexibility in the summer of 2015.

Teague, 25, is averaging 15.6 points and 7.2 assists per game this season for Atlanta.
