The Houston Rockets, who covet both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, are willing to execute a sign-and-trade, trading James Harden for whichever player they can't sign via free agency, according to Chris Broussard (ESPN, June 26).

Broussard believes the Knicks would be open to a possible sign-and-trade of Anthony for Harden under such circumstances.

"The Rockets are confident they can trade Asik and Lin to clear the cap room necessary to offer near-max dollars. ... Assuming the Rockets obtain the cap room to sign James or Anthony, the next step will be to give up their star guard James Harden in a sign-and-trade for whichever superstar (James or Anthony) they don't sign as a free agent," Broussard wrote.
