There were 29 teams that passed up on C Mitchell Robinson in the 2018 NBA Draft before the Knicks decided to take him in the second round. And he agrees all of those teams slept on him.
Robinson retweeted a post of Allonzo Trier catching him asleep with the caption, "29 teams in the 2018 draft slept on @23savage__ like."
Robinson may have had some other teams shaking their heads at their draft picks after watching him in the Las Vegas Summer League. He showcased his ability to bang the boards, get easy points by the rim, and most importantly, protect the rim with his blocking.
The athletic 7-foot-1 center has a great chance to make the Opening Day roster this season with Enes Kanter the only sure-fire pick at the position. The Knicks are also looking for a way to get rid of Joakim Noah's contract as well.
So, Robinson will continue working this offseason to prove the Knicks were right in not sleeping on him back in June.
