The Knicks will be traveling overseas next season for a regular season game in London against the Wizards, the NBA announced on Wednesday.

The game, which is the ninth regular season game in London, will take place on January 17, 2019 at The O2 Arena. This is the third time the Knicks have played in London, as they played games in 2013 and 2015.

With another game in London, the NBA is continuing its initiative to bring their league to a global audience. NBA senior vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Benjamin Morel, said the London game has become a highly anticipated event every season.

"Bringing regular season NBA games to Londo has become a staple of the sports calendar," Morel said in an official press release.

"And is a testament to the popularity of our league that fans from across Europe will descend on The O2 for another great game."

Knicks SG Tim Hardaway Jr. was a part of the 2015 squad that went to London, and he expressed his excitement to return once again to play in front of the electric crowd.

"We had a great experience during our last visit in 2015 playing in front of passionate fans and are looking forward to another trip overseas," he told Yahoo! Sports Rory Carroll.

The Knicks lost that game to the Bucks, 95-79, and they will hope to end up on the winning end this time around.
