In their last crosstown matchup of the season, the Knicks fell to the Nets 109-99, as Brooklyn extended their win streak to six games on Friday night at Barclays Center. >> Box score
Things to know about Friday's game
1) It was another fourth quarter plunge, as the Knicks struggled to put the ball in the hoop and mount a comeback. They only scored 17 points, allowing the Nets to close this one out.
2) With Emmanuel Mudiay out at least two weeks with a shoulder sprain, Frank Ntilikina got the start. But it was Trey Burke that made the most of his opportunity off the bench. He led the Knicks in scoring with 25 points while totaling five assists as well. That production compared to Ntilikina's four points and five assists could get him a start next game.
3) The Nets' bench put in work against the Knicks. Four Brooklyn players including Shabazz Napier (18), Ed Davis (17), Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (10), and Theo Pinson (19) finished with double-digits. Pinson actually led Brooklyn in the points department, while Davis had a game-high 16 rebounds for a double-double.
4) New York was beat bad on the boards tonight, with Brooklyn pulling down 59 rebounds compared to the Knicks 33. Noah Vonleh was the only force on the glass with 13 rebounds, while Mitchell Robinson had only four.
5) The Knicks have now lost eight straight games.
