The New York Knicks will hire Gerald Madkins to become their new assistant general manager, The Undefeated's Marc Spears reports.
Madkins, who previously worked in the Los Angeles Clippers organization, was being pursued by the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings, according to the Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner. He spent four seasons as a Knicks scout before he spent time as the Clippers' director of basketball operations and assistant GM.
Madkins had worked with new Knicks GM Scott Perry when they were in the Seattle SuperSonics organization. He played three years in the NBA in the 1990s. In 48 career games with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, he averaged 1.7 points and 1.4 assists per game.
