The Knicks have waived forward Jamel Artis, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
Artis, who signed as an undrafted free agent this summer after playing with the University of Pittsburgh, tallied five points in 11 minutes during one preseason game with the Knicks. He also was on New York's Summer League team this year.
However, according to Ian Begley of ESPN, Artis might not be completely leaving the organization due to a clause in his contract with the club.
FWIW: Jamel Artis has an Exhibit 10 in his contract which would give him a 50K bonus if he now spends 60 days with the Knicks' G League team- Ian Begley (@IanBegley) October 4, 2017
The team now currently has 19 players left on its roster heading into Friday's matchup against the Wizards.
