Backcourt depth took a hit for the Knicks ahead of Saturday's 5 p.m. game against the Bulls (20-39) at Madison Square Garden.
Among the early afternoon injury updates, the Knicks (17-42) announced that guards Dennis Smith Jr. and Reggie Bullock would be out due to varying health issues.
Smith Jr. remains in the concussion protocol and will miss at least the next two games, which would include Monday's 7 p.m. game against the Rockets (38-20) at MSG, while Bullock is out due to an illness.
Also mentioned in the report are guard Frank Ntilikina and center Taj Gibson, who are listed as probable while battling minor ailments. Ntilikina has a sore groin while Gibson was dealing with back spasms.
Smith Jr. left Thursday's 115-106 loss to the 76ers with concussion-like symptoms after logging just seven minutes. He went 2-for-5 from the field with four points and one rebound to show for his time on the floor.
Ntilikina, meanwhile, returns after he missed the past three games. Fifty appearances into his third NBA season, Ntilikina is averaging 5.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 20.8 minutes per game.
