Ahead of their matchup with the Lakers Tuesday night, the Knicks announced that Marcus Morris and Dennis Smith Jr. have been ruled out for the game.
Morris, who is coming off a career-high 38-point performance against the Clippers, has a sore neck, while Smith Jr. continues to sit with a strained left oblique.
The Knicks could've really used Morris, who has arguably been the best player on the team this season, against the No. 1 team in the western conference in the Lakers. The forward leads New York this season with 19.1 points per game.
Smith Jr. has been dealing with his oblique injury for a few weeks now, having last played for the Knicks on Dec. 23 against the Wizards.
