Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire want some zen.

Both said they are looking forward to speaking with Phil Jackson, who will be introduced at a press conference on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Madison Square Garden.

"Yeah, if he’s coming on board, I’m pretty sure he’s going to want to sit down and talk," Anthony, who is set to become a free agent this summer, said Friday at practice. "I’m hoping to sit down and just have a conversation. At the end of the day, it’s Phil Jackson, man. I’m pretty sure all you guys would want to have a one-on-one with him. I’m the same."

Anthony said he hasn't heard anything official from the Knicks on the Jackson front.

"Not at all," he said. "I think you guys know a little bit more than I do as far as when it comes to that, so until something is officially signed then it’s kind of hard to speak on. As players we’re not given details about things like that. We just know it’s out there. It’s a possibility of him coming on board. So when that happens we’ve got to be ready for that."

Jackson is on record calling the Knicks' roster "clumsy" and said Anthony and Stoudemire don't fit well together.

"Stoudemire doesn't fit together well with Carmelo," Jackson told HBO's "Real Sports" in 2012. "Stoudemire's a really good player. But he's gotta play in a certain system and a way.  Carmelo has to be a better passer. And the ball can’t stop every time it hits his hands. They need to have someone come in that can kinda blend that group together."

Anthony said his game has evolved over the years, but wasn't sure how to address Jackson's critique.

"Maybe at that time I was shooting the ball a little bit too much," Anthony said. "I really don’t know what to say or how to respond to those comments. In the Post I’ve heard Phil said some things about me. But I don’t take it personal. I don’t take it no way. At that point he was just another guy who had an opinion. So I didn’t really take it personal."

Stoudemire, meantime, said he, too, is looking forward to talking with the Zen Master.

"Yeah, I mean, I'm an avid fan of Phil Jackson," said Stoudemire, whose contract runs through 2015. "He has a winning pedigree that's unmatched, so to have that type of leadership around would be awesome.

"Without a doubt I would love to sit down and just pick his brain about basketball and what it takes to win and so that's going to be great for us."
