The consummate Ronny Turiaf is said to be in the line up tonight when the Knicks face the Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden.
There was a time this year that I didn't think the Knicks could win even a single game without Turiaf's presence and energy. The Knicks recent strong play without their starting center has proved me wrong on that front.
Turiaf missed that game, too, with knee soreness. But he doesn't sound too worried about Love.
"I'm looking forward to winning a game," Turiaf said. "I'm not looking forward to playing against Kevin Love. Kevin Love isn't the guy who makes my heart beat. I like the way he plays. He does the dirty work. I'll try to prevent that."
Mike D'Antoni said it best the other day when talking about Turiaf to reporters. He said something to the extent of the Knicks need to learn to win without relying on a player, and they've done just that in the case of Turiaf, who should be 100% when he returns.
If he returns tonight he'll add more depth up front, and hopes to pick up where he left off.
