Joakim Noah (illness) will not play tonight against Portland, Jeff Hornacek told reporters Tuesday evening.
Noah missed Sunday's win over Atlanta due to the same illness.
Noah (illness) and Lance Thomas (bone bruise) are listed as doubtful for Tuesday night's game against the Blazers.
Noah missed Sunday's game against the Hawks because of the illness. Kyle O'Quinn started in his place and Marshall Plumlee was called up from D-League Westchester.
Noah so far has contributed 4.3 points and 8.9 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per contest. In 19 minutes against the Wizards on Thursday night, he added seven rebounds and just two points in the Knicks' loss.
"There's still things I feel like I need to do a lot better," Noah said, according to ESPN New York's Ian Begley. I'm not happy with where I am right now. I feel like I can definitely play better, but I'm not going to get frustrated with the process. I'm giving everything I've got and looking forward to being better with this team, but not being frustrated with the process."
With the new-look team still trying to sort things out in the early goings of the season, Noah added it's going to take some time to get a full feel for the system.
"I'm trying to figure it out. There's no question. It's been really up and down," Noah said. "I think that's kind of like my role on this team. Some nights it's going to be my night, sometimes it's not, but at the end of the day I just have to be consistent with my effort and be consistent and try to bring something positive to this team."
