On Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson's potential Knicks candidacies

Either one could be a fit as next head coach

If the Knicks don't retain Mike Miller as their head coach, their search for his replacement could soon begin in earnest.

And with Tom Thibodeau, Jeff Van Gundy, and Kenny Atkinson among the potential candidates, where does that leave Mark Jackson?

"The interesting thing with Mark Jackson is he's one of those polarizing figures -- at least in the small sample size that is people on Twitter," SNY's Ian Begley explained. "... I haven't heard his name mentioned as a strong candidate. That doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't a top candidate for the job.

 

"I would assume that he would have interest in the job if the Knicks came to him," Begley added. "I would also assume the same with Jeff Van Gundy if the situation is right."
