ESPYs host, future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning, took some shots at the Knicks in his monologue Wednesday night.
Manning didn't have just one joke about the Knicks, but rather several that focused on their debacles from the Charles Oakley incident to Phil Jackson's firing.
"Kristaps Porzingis couldn't believe how dysfunctional it is at Madison Square Garden, and that dude grew up in Latvia," Manning said. "What a terrible year for the Knicks: They had to escort a former legend out of the builidng for acting like a crazy person, and then there was that whole thing with Charles Oakley."
"Phil Jackson's Knicks are the most embarrassing thing to happen to New York sports, and that includes the time Mark Sanchez ran full steam up his teammate's anus and fumbled a football."
Manning wasn't the first award show host to bash the Knicks. Rapper Drake, who hosted the NBA Awards Show, had jokes of his own.
"New York, the city that never sleeps -- mostly because the players are all afraid of getting traded," Drake said.
Multiple reports have said the Knicks are close to trading F Carmelo Anthony to the Rockets. Jackson was trying to trade Melo during the second half of last season.
