In recent days, the narrative around Kristaps Porzingis hasn't been quite as palatable as earlier in the season. He's mired in a shooting slump that coincides to about when Tim Hardaway Jr. went down injured and the Knicks record has dipped with his shooting form.
Then, after the Knicks 107-103 overtime loss to the Heat on Friday night, Porzingis was in question again after failing to take a shot in overtime.
"There's a lot of pressure in the overtime," Porzingis said, via Stefan Bondy of NY Daily News. "There weren't many opportunities for me. It's how it goes sometimes. On to the next one. We'll figure out how to get the ball to me and how I can be effective. Right now we're struggling a little bit."
Overall, Porzingis had another tough night shooting. In 37 minutes, Porzingis scored 15 points on 5 of 14 shooting with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. He was a minus-11.
Porzingis and the Knicks are next in action Sunday night at 7 p.m. against the Mavericks in Dallas.
