This was a game tonight that at times, you could see that the Knicks had been off for three days, but after Dallas played better than anyone has against the Knicks in the first half, they got shutdown in the 2nd half and the three ball wasn't falling anymore for the Mavs.

Carmelo Anthony is fun to watch, and nobody can drive to the basket like he can. He constantly took advantage of his size and speed to drive to the hole and ended up scoring 31. If he didn't miss a couple of layups and wasn't 9-14 from the line, he could have had 40+.

Raymond Felton got off to a great start again with five assists in the first quarter, but had only four the rest of the game. This was a game where the big guys got into the scoring more as the three headed back court of Felton, Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni combined for only 14 points but did have 13 Assists and 6 rebounds.

O.J. Mayo was looking like he would be unstoppable in the first half, but couldn't keep it up in the second half and was in foul trouble. Chris Kaman was good off the bench for the Mavericks as well but it was the lack of production from Darren Collison (1-8 shooting, 4 points, four turnovers) that really hurt the Mavericks.

The Knicks had their worst three point shooting game of the season, only going 8-22, but still scored over 100 points for the fourth straight game and hit big three pointers when it mattered most including one in the corner from J.R. Smith after a timeout in the third to extend the Knicks lead to 72-67.

Tyson Chandler, after dealing with the flu, looked and played a lot better, battling on the boards, playing tough defense as always and coming up with some big time putbacks, including a putback dunk in the 4th to put the game away.

This was the toughest game the Knicks have played in terms of the quality of performance from the opposition but they stayed in the game in the first half, kept it close and used tough defense and timely baskets to help put it away. It wasn't a pretty win but I believe a very telling and satisfying win.

Who's Next: The Knicks will have another three days off before their next game as they begin a three game road trip with a game in Orlando against the Magic, with tip-off at 7:oo pm.
