Yesterday afternoon I was a guest on the CBS podcast The Jake Brown Show, and had the following to say about...
Phil Jackson's comments about LeBron James's "posse"
"That reaction was not 'this isn't cool.' There was some time that it took where they created a story a day later, which is good for ESPN. The definition of 'posse' is you're coming in there with authority and that you're bringing people around you to support your authority and that's a great compliment to people who have earned the right to be that authoritative.
I know Mav Carter (LeBron's business manager, who Jackson was referring to), he's a tremendous person and we go back to 2010 during that time LeBron was considering coming to New York. It's pretty clear LeBron is not fit for NY. This just proves that."
Jackson, Carmelo Anthony and the triangle offense
"They have a great relationship off the court. On the court, they're not simpatico, as Phil would say. Maybe Melo doesn't even know what the triangle is. I don't think players understand what the triangle is. Phil is not there every day."
The Knicks trading for Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson
"Thompson will not be available any time soon. If he were to become available and the call came from Steve Kerr to Phil Jackson, the first player the Warriors are going to ask for is Kristaps Porzingis. At that point, Phil Jackson is going to hang up the phone. ...
If you want to sweeten the package, if it becomes so bad in Golden State where they have to unload Thompson, then you're talking about Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and probably at least three first-round picks. That's a lot, but that's where you start and then you work your way back."
