It wasn't all Felton's fault. After all, it was a great shot by Knight. But after the game, Knight said that he wanted Felton on him for that shot. It makes sense. Felton is one of the worst defenders in the league. Felton has given up huge games to other starting point guards this year, including Kyrie Irving and Kyle Lowry.
With his three points against the Bucks, Felton's PPG to 10.7. That is ranked 30th in the league among point guards. He is being outscored by everyone from Jeremy Lin to Avery Bradley. In addition, Felton's 1 for 7 from the field dropped his shooting percentage to .408. That hideous number is good for 49th in the league among point guards.
There are a few more troubling numbers that relate to Felton's career. This year, Felton is averaging fewer points per game than at anytime during his career. In fact, it isn't even close. In 2011-12, Felton's worst season to date, he was averaging nearly an entire point more... and things are a long way from the 15.5 he averaged in 2010-11. He's also averaging less steals and less assists than at any point in his career.
No matter how you spin it, Raymond Felton has been horrendous this season and could be the worst starting point guard in the NBA by the time 2013-14 comes to a close. I've said it before, I'll say it again. The Knicks need a new point guard in the worst way.
