The Knicks have appointed David Fizdale as their next head coach, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Fizdale was an assistant coach for the Heat from 2008-16, winning two titles with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and company. He came into the national picture in the NBA when he became the head coach of the Grizzlies in 2016.
During his first season with the Grizzlies, he led the team to a 43-39 record and a hard-fought first-round playoff exit against the Spurs. During the series, Fizdale delivered one of the best post-game speeches of recent memory.
The infamous 'take that for data' rant.
Fizdale earned plaudits across the league for defending his players, his team and himself, being unafraid of an impending fine. His fire is something Knicks fans can look forward to.
So, while Knicks fans are awaiting the team to make the hire official, let's relive Fizdale's most well-known moment in his coaching career.
