Now Commenting On:

The New York Knicks are expected to shop Amar'e Stoudemire and his expiring contract to teams that have not yet already used its amnesty clause, according to the Boston Globe. The report names Eric Gordon of the New Orleans Pelicans as a possible target, because the team is looking to shed his long-term deal.

"The Knicks have limited options to improve this summer but a move they are expected to make is offering the expiring contract of Amar’e Stoudemire to a team that has not already used its amnesty clause. That team in turn could trade the Knicks the long-term, unwanted contract of an impact player, such as the Pelicans’ Eric Gordon"

Saying the Knicks are shopping Stoudemire is pure nonsense at this point. Of course Steve Mills (a.k.a. James Dolan) would love to shop Stoudemire, but who is going to take on the worst contract in the NBA? Sure, he'll be an expiring deal, but do the Knicks want to take on a long-term bad contract for an expiring one?

I'd like the Knicks sit tight, get what they can out of Stoudemire over next season and then have the cap open up in the summer of 2015.
