After the Knicks made the trade of Kristaps Porzingis to the Mavericks official, the 7-foot-3 Latvian first reacted by posting a GIF with his new teammate. Hours later, he thanked his Knicks fans.

Porzingis is clearly happy about joining his new team. He acknowledged his time in New York with an Instagram post hours after the original tweet. The Knicks faithful didn't initially welcome the former first-rounder with open arms, but he won them over with his outstanding play on the hardwood.
In three seasons in New York, Porzingis averaged 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game in 186 games. Last season, he earned an All-Star nod after posting a career-high 22.7 points. However, his ACL tear against the Bucks in February forced him to miss the rest of the season, and most if not all of this year.
But this is a new beginning for the 23-year-old, and after a Knicks career that involved some turmoil on and off the court, Porzingis is hoping his time in Dallas will be better times.
If his tweet says anything, he believes they will be.
