All-Star G Jimmy Butler has reportedly requested a trade from the Timberwolves, and he even gave them a list of preferred destinations. Among those desired landing spots was the bright lights of Madison Square Garden, joining the Knicks.
But would the Knicks be willing to make it happen? Knicks president Steve Mills has already made it clear this week that he won't partake in anything that "jeopardizes the future" of the franchise. Butler is also set to be a free agent at the end of the season, unless he is dealt and signs an extension.
So, with that in mind, a talent like Butler already engrained on the team could be extremely attractive to other potential free agents once the season ends.
