Nets GM Sean Marks said on Wednesday that Brooklyn's coaching search is on hold while the NBA season is suspended.

The Knicks are taking the same approach, heeding an unofficial moratorium on any personnel moves while the season is on hold, people in touch with the team told SNY.

That means no action taken on a potential coaching search, those people say. Those in touch with the team also say that there is no movement at the moment on any front office transactions, confirming a New York Post report.

Given the uncertainty that we are all facing amid the coronavirus crisis, it makes sense that teams put any coaching or front office hires on hold.

New Knicks president Leon Rose has been holding meetings, remotely, with the Knicks' current staff about the draft, sources confirm.

If the season doesn't resume -- or if it starts again in a playoff format -- the Knicks will finish with the NBA's sixth-worst record. That would give them a nine percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick in the NBA Lottery, and a 28 percent chance of a pick in the top-three.

In that scenario, they could slide back as low as No. 9. There is a minuscule chance (.01 percent) that they fall all the way back to 10. New York would have two first-round picks (No. 27 from the Clippers via the Marcus Morris trade) and an early second-round pick (No. 38, via Charlotte).

Knicks GM Scott Perry, who was hired by ex-president Steve Mills, remains in that role under Rose.

So until something changes with the front office or scouting, Rose will lean on Perry and his staff to analyze potential draft picks.
