Ok eddy curry hasn't played in several straight games and in some cases this is ok but there are also so some where it isn't . If we are hitting our three's and the offense is running smoothly then, hey, I agree that he shouldn't play. But when it starts to look like an all star saturday night 3point contest out there we should put eddy in and throw it down to him. Eddy curry one on one is a tough cover for any center in the league he has good mover on the block and a nice soft touch. In the year he averaged 19 a game we threw to him a lot it was effective. Then u bring zach randolph in and the blocks not big enough for the both of them ( kinda like the shaq and amare in phx). The last fex knick losses came with very little points in the paint and horrible knicks 3pt % so throw it in to eddy and I feel it will change things up a lot then just to keep firing things away from deep.
So the knicks fan a chanting the wrong name because nate is known for his questionable shot attempts from deep.- Cameron Johnson
I am onto my 20th year of life and approximately what I would like to think of as my 16th year of being a fan of the New York Knicks. On Friday I attended my first Knicks game in nearly 2.5 years, getting back to the garden isn’t so easy as a college student. I am a die hard New York sports fan, with a passion for the Yankees, Rangers and Jets, but out of all the sports and their New York team, my heart and passion lay with the Knicks, so much so that I purchased NBA League Pass for my fraternity house so I could watch Knick Games while I am away at school in Ohio. The game Friday was great, this Knicks team is the best I’ve seen since Stephon Marbury came back to New York and took us to the playoffs in ’04.
My frustration (besides Isiah tearing the franchise apart), is with my fellow Knicks fans who obnoxiously chant during the game “We Want Nate.” We have a record of 7-3 in December. Since Nate’s effective benching against Phoenix the Knicks have given up an average of 96.9 points per game, nearly 10 points less then the first 17 games. I recall watching Nate come into games and repeatedly letting any opposing point guard, drive right by him for an easy basket, just so he can get an outlet pass and go on a fast break.
Coach D’Antoni has been pestered daily about a player who has clearly kept us from winning, something we haven’t seen too much of in the past 5 years, and something that will ultimately help us land a superstar free agent. Don’t get me wrong I like Nate Robinson, he is a sight to see, what he can do in this game at his size is unbelievable and exciting for all fans, but not at the cost of winning games. To trade a fan favorite is difficult, I remember after the 1998 season when we traded Charles Oakley for Marcus Camby, Oakley of course was getting old, but you could always see his effort in everything he did, consequently we made it to the NBA Finals.
I’m not saying getting rid of Nate will help us make it to the finals, that clearly wont happen, but why ruin a good thing. When the Knicks were successful in the 90’s until the end of the Van Gundy era we had a top 10 defense. Defense wins games, and winning games will land us a superstar player, and I’m sure Knicks fans would rather Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Chris Bosh, or Joe Johnson over Nate Robinson, I know I sure would, and I Know I don’t want Nate, and you shouldn’t either.- Matt Gibson
Adrian from yahoo sports points out that anthony randolph is on the trade block. As a knicks fan, the though of possibly acquring either augustin or possibly miller and maybe rudy is great. But can you imagine if we got anthony randolph as well? Curious what you though it would take to possible get randolph. Would nelly be inclined to do nate, wilson, and cap filler for randolph and raja (once his trade restriction is up in mid january)? Let me know what you think.- Barnaby8787
Question for you Tommy D. Just read that Golden State might be willing to
put Anthony Randolph on the block. That kid is the perfect big for
D'Antoni. He would be one of the "pieces" supposedly needed to lure that
franchise FA next year. Plus, G.S. owes us one after they kicked us in the
nuts on draft day. I guess my question would be how can this happen. And
please tell me it will. -Mike K (Albany State)
TD- I can't say that Randolph is available. As Hahn wrote the other day, the asking price is Gallinari...no thanks.
Personally, I feel Camby would be a great addition, especially since he is in the final year of his deal. Any realistic possibility of him coming back to the Garden? RCGraham86
TD- I'd say off season...he can still help.
