Tim Hardaway Jr. is not here for your tanking ambitions. In fact, Hardaway says anyone who feels the Knicks should be tanking, then they're rooting for the wrong team.
The Knicks lost to the Raptors 113-88 in their first game since Kristaps Porzingis tore his ACL and many hope the Knicks refocus their efforts from a playoff push to developing young talent and aiming for a high lottery pick. But Hardaway doesn't believe in that plan.
"Tank is not in my vocabulary," said Hardaway said, via Stefan Bondy of the NY Post. "If anybody feels like we should be tanking or should be doing something like that, they're rooting for the wrong team."
On the court, Hardaway's shooting slump continued as he shot 4-14 and scored 9 points.
"I think the mental part is out of it," Hardaway said. "I think it's out of my mind right now. I'm just trying to focus on playing basketball and try to do every other little thing to get it back whether it's on the defensive end, getting other players involved. Driving and kicking. Rebounding. I know it's a struggle right now but I'm not going to continue to harp on it. I just got to continue to shoot myself out of it."
Hardaway and the Knicks are next in action on Sunday against the Pacers at 5 p.m.
