The key talent that Ronny Turiaf brings to the Knicks team is his communication. There have been moments where players have not been playing team basketball and Ronny has been the first one to tell his teammates to share the ball. Most players would react negatively to this and take it the wrong way. However, when it’s comes to Turiaf you know the message is coming from the heart.I was listening to the radio the other day and heard a mid-day host go off on a tangent on how on earth Ronny Turiaf's absence was such a major factor on this team. "But he wasn't EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO START!!!" was the host's point as if that matters. Role players don't always start but doesn't make them any less valuable per minute.
Let's not forget to mention his support of his teammates when a good play is made. Support like that is priceless. There are times he is so excited for his teammates you would think he was the one who scored a basket. If you are a teammate of Ronny you know he supports you 100%.
What bothers me are people who pontificate about the Knicks, but don't watch.
As Big C describes wonderfully, Turiaf's value is off the charts important because he's a great teammate who plays hard and doesn't complain about not getting the ball. If he wants the ball, he'll just go get it through and offensive rebound, block or defensive board.
