Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony was seen playing pick-up basketball alongside Houston Rockets guards James Harden and Chris Paul on Monday at Life Time Athletic at Sky in New York City.
Several other NBA players were playing in the game, including the Knicks' Lance Thomas, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook and Enes Kantor, Cleveland's Iman Shumpert and Toronto's Serge Ibaka.
Anthony has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the past several months and has said the only team he would waive his no-trade clause would be to join Harden and Paul in Houston.
The Knicks have reportedly told other teams the Rockets don't have assets that appeal to them, and the two sides reportedly remain "not close" on a potential deal.
Anthony averaged 22.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 74 games with New York last season. He has reportedly been sending encouraging texts to his Knicks teammates who are competing in the European championships, and has been in contact with rookie Frank Ntilikina and guard Tim Hardaway Jr., among other teammates.
New York opens training camp on Sept. 25.
