Reports all season long have made it seem like a forgone conclusion that Kevin Durant will sign with the Knicks this summer, but how can the Knicks convince him to do that? How will they approach their meeting with him?
SNY's new NBA Insider Ian Begley answered that question Thursday on The Thread.
"The pitch is, 'Hey, we have two max slots here. Who do you want to play with Kevin? You want to play with Kyrie? You want to play with Kemba Walker? We have the money to lands these guys,'" Begley said.
"And then the pitch is, 'Hey listen, if you want to dispel the notion that you jumped on the bandwagon to win your rings, come have success here. No one will be talking about Golden State if you can win in New York. That's a forever thing. There will be statues of you outside of Madison Square Garden if you get a ring here.'"
