With Derek Rose still recovering from a torn left ACL, the Bulls will likely fall off from the top seed.
This offseason the Knicks have lost Jeremy Lin, but have upgraded their overall roster.
With the additions of Raymond Felton, Marcus Camby, Jason Kidd, and Ronnie Brewer, they should be able to move up in the Eastern Conference standings.
Miami most likely locks up the top seed with their additions of Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Opponents are going to have to try twice as hard to cover ground as if it wasn't difficult enough with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade crashing the boards.
As for the Bulls they have lost Derek Rose for the majority of the season, but they still have proven talent with Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng. They also have a strong defense with Joakim Noah around the basket. Don't be surprised if the veteran Richard Hamilton also made a significant impact.
Aside from the Heat and Bulls, the main threats appear to be the Celtics, Pacers, Sixers, and Nets. The Raptors have also improved.
Is it fair to expect the Knicks to land a top three seed? This season one playoff win won't cut it in this city.
