Former Knicks center Enes Kanter was once one of the biggest Kevin Durant-to-New York supporters.
Now, he's singing a different tune.
Appearing on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the current Blazer Kanter was asked about a possible Durant-Knicks union, but he believes a different destination is more likely for the coveted free agent.
"If I were him, don't get me wrong I love New York, I love the Knicks, I love the fans, MSG and everything it's cool, but I see him going to Brooklyn with Kyrie [Irving]," Kanter said.
Kanter played parts of two seasons with the Knicks, averaging 14.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
"I know KD and I know his personality and everything - the media might be a little harsh on him in New York," Kanter said. "Because if you're KD, you're going to the Knicks, if you're not winning, they're going to blame you.
"I see him going to Brooklyn. I wish he'd go to the Knicks, but I see him going to Brooklyn."
While Kanter was with the Knicks, though, he didn't hold back in supporting the idea of Durant coming to Madison Square Garden.
"Who wouldn't want KD to wear a New York uniform?," Kanter told Sirius XM Radio in 2018. "We are New York. He's a free agent. We need to use that. We are the best city in the world. That could draw a lot of attention for free agents. I would love for him to be my teammate again."
On Wednesday, Durant reportedly declined his player option with Golden State, officially becoming the most interesting name to watch in this year's free agency class.
