MARK FRASER

The Devils have recalled defenseman Mark Fraser from Albany (Chere, Jan. 3).

Fraser adds some much needed depth to the position with Eric Gelinas being ill and Peter Harrold going?down with an injury in last night's game against the Canadiens. Harrold was the victim of a high stick and is possibly suffering from a concussion.

?Mark has experience. He has the most NHL experience down there and he?s been playing very well. That worked out, so he?ll get a chance.??GM/coach Lou Lamoriello said.

The Devils' frustration level is rising.

On a night when the Jets, Rangers, Islanders and Capitals all won, New Jersey could only muster one goal in a 2-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday at Prudential Center.

"There's some frustration in not winning," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. "We have to find a way to win games ... that's where the frustration lies."

The Devils have sent Rod Pelley, Mark Fraser and a 7th Round Pick to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Kurtis Foster and goaltender Timo Pielmeier.

This is an upgrade for the Devils on defense and gives them a right handed shot from the point on the power play thanks to Foster. So far this season Foster has 1 goal and 1 assist in 9 games this season with the Ducks. Hopefully he can contribute more with the Devils. He is expected to join the team in Florida tomorrow.

Andy Greene has been bothered by his foot again. He underwent x-rays and it was determined that he will not play tonight at home against the Ottawa Senators. Greene has had a sore foot since he took a shot off of it on November 26th against the Islanders.

Fraser will take Greene's spot in the lineup. Fraser played three games this season all while filling in for Greene.

Today the Devils placed Mark Fraser and Rod Pelley on waivers. If they are claimed off waivers they will have to play for that particular club. If they are not claimed by tomorrow they will remain on the NHL roster.
