That's right. Philadelphia PR DeSean Jackson's game-winning punt return against the Giants on December 19, 2010 has been voted The Greatest Play in NFL History by NFL.com's readers. This ultimate insult of a play beat out 49ers QB Steve Young's TD scramble vs the Vikings in 1988.

Like all Giant fans, this play will be lodged in my brain for the rest of my life. It was a play that never should have happened, as we all know. I was in the press box that day and what really burned my @$$ was having to endure some members of the Philly media, who were jumping up and down like a gaggle of grade school girls at a Justin Bieber concert. What a disgrace.

OK?well as long as no one was injured in the last ten minutes, I think I?m ready to unveil my final roster projection for 2011. We still have two preseason contests to go, but right around now is when the decisions start to become clear. So let?s jump right in with QB.

QB Keeping 2: In 2011, NFL teams now have the luxury of dressing 46 players on game day. This essentially means that the 3rd string QB is no longer an ?emergency option.? The Giants have chosen to forgo the 3rd QB all together since 2008, and I?m not so sure that changes this season. Obviously Eli is the number 1, but he heads up a current corps of 4 talented signal callers.

David Carr (first pick ever of the Houston Texans in 2002) is my favorite to win the job, and not just because he is less expensive than the other veteran alternative. Yes he is about 2 million cheaper than Sage Rosenfels, but he is also equally talented and more versatile. Quite frankly, I expected him to win the starting job in San Francisco last year and I still think he will be a starter again in this league before he retires. Rosenfels may also be trade bait for another CB (more later).

The opposite of my mock dream drafts: a combination of poor draft strategy, players I would not like to see taken and poor value picks, all somewhere within the realm of possibility.

Round 1: Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Only dynamic running backs who can transform an offense should be taken in the first round.? Take a look around the NFL.? How many of the top running backs are as slow as Ingram?? People in the Ingram camp talk about how he?s a smart, determined, powerful runner.? That?s fine, but he?s not someone I?d want to take in the first round.? There are always running backs available later in the draft that will have as much of an impact.? But there are still some people who argue that the Giants should consider Ingram.

After an embarrassing two weeks, the New York Giants are very likely only 6 days away from beginning preparations for 2011. With the new year approaching, I thought it would be smart to go through some of the current members of the organization whose futures with the club are either hot button issues or otherwise in doubt. The piece is a long one and it is broken up into three sections: Out/On The Bubble/ In. As always feel free to let GFB know what you think.

OutHC Tom Coughlin: While ragging on Coughlin has been an overused go-to option for writers and pundits league wide lately, the blade is swinging ever closer to his neck after yesterday?s loss. There is an argument for keeping him of course. His tenure thus far in New York has been an upgrade from a bleak stretch of time in the team?s history that spanned from 1992 through 2003. After a rebuilding period in 2004, Coughlin fielded an overall competitive squad from 2005 through 2008 and obviously brought New York an impressive Super Bowl win. But things have not been quite the same for the Giants since jumping out to an 11-1 start in 2008. Following up a Super Bowl run with 3 months of utterly dominant football, the Giants stumbled at home against Philadelphia that season and ultimately lost to the Eagles again in their first appearance of the playoffs. 2009 saw a 5-0 start turn into a 3-5 finish and 2010 saw a historical single game collapse, an unspeakable rash of turnovers, and an overall failure to execute on special teams. Coughlin, who is historically quite reliable when it comes to challenges, blew the Giants final challenge of yesterday?s game on an obvious unfavorable ruling and thus was unable to protest against at a late Eli interception on a key drive that was clearly caught out of bounds.

P Matt Dodge's ability has been questioned all summer.

Can he get off a nice punt? Yes. Can he do it consistently? No.

The struggling rookie out of ECU did manage to find consistency yesterday. Unfortunately, he was consistently awful.

Bond, Dodge Don't Fit Normal Prototype

Jeff Feagles is leaving the NFL this week, closing out an illustrious career that spanned over two decades.? The 44-year-old wunderkind, who has been the Giants punter for the past seven seasons has decided to finally pack it in giving way to two very interesting, unconventional prospects.

The first is Aussie-rules footballer Jy Bond, who can kick with both legs.? The other is 7th round draft pick Matt Dodge, who lifts weights with the lineman.

Bond has very little football experience.? He had a cup of coffee with the Miami Dolphins and has worked out with fellow countryman and San Diego Chargers punter, Darren Bennett.
