A+: St. Lucien Mets 10. @ Fort Myers Miracle (MIN) 5

St. Lucie handed the juggernaut Miracle (23-5) just their fifth loss of the season.

3B Aderlin Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with a double (his eighth) and a homer (his fourth). At age 21, Aderlin Rodriguez is hitting .206/.235/.393 with 12 extra-base hits and a .187 isolated slugging percentage in advanced-A. On the other side, Twins' top prospect Miguel Sano was 3-for-4 with a homer, his 10th (!!) of the year. Sano, who will turn 20 next week is hitting .377/.446/.755 with 19 (!) extra-base hits and a .378 isolated slugging percentage. That is crazy. Sano has drawn 12 walks to Aderlin's four. The one blemish on Sano's game: the 32 whiffs in 28 games. All the same, he's slugging .755 ing the FSL where there's no one else above .571.

Given the strength of the Miracle offense, Robert Gsellman, who is filling a spot in the FSL rotation until RHP Michael Fulmer (or Hansel Robles) is healthy, or the Savannah reinforcements are ready, was just fine again: 5 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 HR.

A: Savannah Sand Gnats 9, @ Hickory Crawdads 2

This was a 1-1 game in the top of the eighth inning when the Gnats scored four runs, the first two on a two-run single by 2B Chad Zurcher.

Then in the ninth, C Kevin Plawecki put the game well out of reach with a grand slam, his fifth homer of the year. Plawecki, who was 3-for-5 with a double (his 17th in 26 games) is leading the SAL in AVG, OBP, SLG, 2B and total bases as part of a .416/.470/.733 line in his 26 games. Plawecki rides a 13-game hit streak, tied for the best in the SAL this year, over which time he has hit .480/.526/.840 (!) with nine doubles, three homers and seven strikeouts. At 22, yeah, he's ready for advanced-A.

RHP Rainy Lara was pretty darn good again: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K to improve to 4-1 with a 1.45 ERA.

Once again, no Brandon Nimmo (left hand).
