The 'Hoppers scored six times off Savannah starter Yohan Almonte to snap the Gnats' six-game winning streak.
However, two hitters stood out, and it's two guys who I've been writing a lot about recently
1. C Albert Cordero: 2-4, HR, RBI. The 21-year old is now hitting .323/.352/.434 with six-extra base hits in 26 games in the second half. He was also 1-for-2 throwing out runners attempting to steal against him. For the year, he's nailed exactly half of opposing runners (22 of 44). That's not just the best in the South Atlantic League, it's the best in the entire Mets system. Just for the record, Josh Thole is at 21.2% (11 of 41).
2. LF Alonzo Harris was 2-4 with a triple, his third in four games. The 22-year old is hitting .291/.330/.407 in 24 games in July. He's made a ton of progress, and possesses a valuable set of skills as a speed guy who can play second, left or centerfield.
