A night after Matt Harvey most likely made his last start in advanced-A, Darin Gorski (5-0, 1.57) was absolutely brilliant over six innings in what could well have been his final St. Lucie start as well. Gorski's line: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. For the year in St. Lucie: 68.2 IP, 54 H, 15 R, 15 BB, 82 K. In June, he's been even better, an 0.67 ERA with two walks against 19 strikeouts. I expected Harvey's dominance. I did not expect Gorski's. He is far and away the biggest and best surprise of the 2011 Mets minor league season.
SS Wilmer Flores (.269/.316/.377) was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He's hitting .291/.361/.382 in 15 games in June. Baby steps, folks, baby steps.
